The Environmental Policy details Teal's objectives and
commitments in the long term productivity and conservation of natural resources.
Forest certification is a means of protecting forest by promoting responsible and sustainable forest management. Certification
provides an independent third-party assurance that a forestry operation meets standards set by a certification program.
Forests are evaluated according to previously defined standards of the certification program by
a qualified independent
auditor. If satisfied, the auditor will certify the forest (or area) as sustainably managed.
The Teal Jones Group has achieved Canadian Standards Association Sustainable Forest
Management (CAN/CSA-Z809-2002) certification on our forest lands in Southern Vancouver Island and our Fraser Timberlands.
Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC Annex 4)
Chain of Custody certification provides customers with the assurance that the products they are purchasing come from sustainably
managed resources. Certified products are available from all our divisions (Logging, Whitewood Lumber, Western Red Cedar Lumber,
and Shake & Shingles).
